I'm casting WALK ON WATER; a queer coming-of-age thriller about two Asian teenagers exploring their sexuality amidst the last summer before they leave for college.
Set in Bridgewater, New Jersey, the 15-minute short film explores suppressed queerness in the Asian American community alongside societal expectations of adolescent masculinity.

[CHARLIE] 18-22, East-Asian, preferably Chinese. A spontaneous and outgoing swimmer who is best friends with Jeffrey. Charlie’s paranoia over Jeffrey’s wellbeing causes him to become increasingly anxious as the summer comes to an end. LEAD
[JEFFREY] 18-22, East-Asian, preferably Chinese. Jeffrey, a D1 track & field recruit, is more
reserved and careful than Charlie. His fear of swimming in the lake directly contrasts Charlie’s impulsive and
sporadic energy. LEAD
[JEFFREY'S MOTHER] 40-55, Chinese. Stern, traditional, and strict. Disapproving and suspicious of Jeffrey's friendship with Charlie, and what it could lead to. *MUST SPEAK MANDARIN* SUPPORTING
