  • FREE ZOOM THEATER + SEATTLE MAINSTAGE 2026

    Dear Rainy Day Community,

    Hope you are having an excellent fall. As 2025 quickly approaches its end, we are getting ready to announce our 2026 projects as well as ending 2025 strong!

    TWISTED TALES IS NEXT WEEKEND!

    Join us for our annual year-end tradition, the Twisted Tales Virtual One Act Festival! This year's performance features 5 fabulous short plays, all providing anew twist on a familiar tale. We have takes on Rumpelstiltskin, The Boy Who Cried Wolf, The Wizard of Oz, The Picture of Dorian Gray, and the Hades and Persephone Myth.

    Attendance is free, and you can RSVP to either performance (or both!) using the link herehttps://events.humanitix.com/twisted-tales-2025-one-act-festival

    There may also be some announcements you won't want to miss...

    We hope to see you there!

    ANNOUNCING OUR FIRST SEATTLE MAINSTAGE OF 2026!

    That's right, we said first... more to come on that as we work to slowly expand our Seattle-area offerings (we will continue to have a robust online presence too).

    Audition sign ups are now live for "The Dead Guy" by Eric Coble, which some of you who've been here a while may remember we did virtually back in 2022. Although we don't currently plan on doing this for any of our other past virtual mainstages, we felt it was time to bring this one back, to a "traditional" (i.e. in person) stage this time. Unfortunately due to venue and licensing restrictions, we will not be able to livestream this show's performances for our non-Seattle area audiences. We hope to be able to do this for future shows.

    This production will be directed by Jack Seamus and stage managed by Wren Svoboda. Expected cast size is 6-7 people, and we encourage anyone who is interested to audition!

    Dead Guy Auditions Poster.png

    Performances will take place at Theatre Puget Sound's Theatre4 in Seattle, WA from Feb. 27-March 8, 2026 (a 2-weekend, 6-performance run) and rehearsals will start in January 2026.

    General auditions are on Dec. 15th and 16th, 2025, and callbacks will take place by invitation on Dec. 19th, 2025.

    All cast and crew will receive a modest stipend for their time and talent.

    For more information (and how to sign up for auditions), please visit the link here: https://theatrepugetsound.org/auditions/rainy-day-artistic-collective-auditions-for-the-dead-guy-by-eric-coble/

    ROMEO AND JULIET READING

    Those of you who have been around for a while may remember the "Rainy Day Read Throughs" program that started it all - before Virtual One Act Festivals, before MainStages, before anything else, this is what our group came together to do. For those not familiar with what these are, they are simply a group of Rainy Day community members coming together to read and talk about a script. No rehearsal, no performance, just one session of enjoying and analyzing a script together. Some of these readings did go on to become MainStage productions (virtual and in person both), and that can be one purpose of these readings, but it's not the primary function of the event.

    We haven't done them in a couple of years as our activities have shifted a bit and other projects have taken priority, but we're going to try one out again - for fun, for community, and to test out if it's something we want to bring back on a more regular basis.

    This reading will be a cut of Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet," and if you are interested in taking part (as a reader or as an observer), sign up by filling out this form here: https://forms.gle/fP8KhAtYV4QeDAeN8. We will be closing sign-ups on December 3rd.

    If you have already signed up, no need to fill out the form again - we will be in touch in early December.

    The exact date and time are TBD - the date will be chosen based on the greatest number of people available that day, but we're currently looking at the week of January 5th, 2026.

    Want to be present/participate in the discussion but don't want to read? Sign up anyway as an audience member! Although this will not be livestreamed or broadcast to the public, all are welcome.

    JOIN US ON DISCORD!

    We've had a Discord server for a little while now, but we will be trying to use it for more things in 2026, potentially including some virtual auditions. Don't miss out - join us on Discord today!

    You can also follow us on our new BlueSky @rdacofficial.bsky.social, or Instagram @rdacofficial2020, or Facebook (Rainy Day Artistic Collective).

    ~~~
    Thank you for being a truly wonderful community - we would not be here without you! We'll check in again in December, but in the meantime, we wish you joy and peace through any upcoming holidays you may be celebrating.
    Warmly,
    Jack, Koda, Kat, and Andy
    GENERAL (Mid 20s – Early 40s): Black African Villager. Warlord in Uganda who is bothering the local villagers. An excellent physical presence with the ability to be authoritative and intimidating but also comedic and is a singer. Baritone to an F.
Jason’s mother — fiery, funny, and fiercely protective. Her temper flares fast, but it’s born from love and fear. She’s been through hell raising Jason, and every scene with her carries that mix of exhaustion and unconditional care. Needs strong emotional instincts, comedic timing, and a raw sense of realism. *Must know how to drive a car and have a valid drivers license.* $227 per day. SUPPORTING [GREG] Male, Mid-50s, White. A loving father who’s not perfect but always tries. Greg and Jason argue often — small disagreements that stem from pride and passion — but their bond is unbreakable. He’s the steady, working-class type: loyal, grounded, and deeply emotional beneath the surface. $227 per day. SUPPORTING [YOUNG JASON] Male, 12-16, White (Puerto Rican/Russian) Represents Jason’s innocence and early anger before life hardened him. He’s tough for his age, stubborn, and emotionally reactive. Must be expressive and comfortable in emotionally charged scenes — yelling, crying, or moments of silence. Athletic or fight-training experience is a plus. $227 per day. SUPPORTING [DANIA] Female, Early 20s, White. Dark hair. A haunting presence rather than a full character. Seen through Jason’s memories and imagination. Her face is often obscured — a symbol of loss, temptation, and guilt. Needs to carry strong nonverbal acting — subtle glances, body language, emotional aura. The performance is more felt than heard. Mysterious, beautiful, and unsettling. $227 per day. SUPPORTING [GABE] Male, 30s-40s, White. Gabe is Jason’s boss at his Wall Street sales firm — a confident, sharp, and slightly arrogant leader who thrives on results and appearances. Charming in meetings, but condescending when he feels his authority challenged. He sees Jason as one of his best performers but has no empathy for his personal struggles. Gabe’s energy is fast-talking, calculated, and manipulative in a performative way. SUPPORTING [CARL & CIARRA] Male & Female, Early 30s, White. Couple. An awkward yet magnetic pair who bring a sexual and comedic tension to the story. Both are free-spirited, curious, and oddly charming in their weirdness. They add levity and contrast to Jason’s dark world. Actors should have strong chemistry, a willingness for intimate choreography, and a mix of confidence and quirk. Strongly considering real couples for this role. $227 per day. SUPPORTING [THE MASKS] Male, Late teens–early 20s, Any ethnicity. A group of reckless, fearless young men with nothing to lose. They embody chaos and danger — the kind of energy that feels unpredictable and raw. Loud, impulsive, and consumed by ego, they move as a pack with a violent confidence that makes them both terrifying and pathetic. These are the characters who take Rodney’s life, and the audience must instantly despise them. Their performances should feel real, not overacted -- authentic street energy, restless body language, and a sense of emptiness beneath the mask. $142 for a partial day. SUPPORTING [REFEREE] 30s–60s, Any ethnicity, Male. Authentic professionals who feel real in the fight world. Prefer actual experience in combat sports or officiating. The referee maintains authority and presence. Grounded performances only — avoid caricature. $142 for a partial day. DAY PLAYER [ANNOUNCER] 30s–60s, Any ethnicity, Male. Authentic professionals who feel real in the fight world. Prefer actual experience in combat sports or officiating. The announcer drives energy and realism. Grounded performances only — avoid caricature. $142 for a partial day. DAY PLAYER [DOCTOR] 30s–60s, Any ethnicity, Male. Authentic professionals who feel real in the fight world. Prefer actual experience in combat sports or officiating. The doctor carries quiet concern. Grounded performances only — avoid caricature. $227 per day. DAY PLAYER [RAPPER] Male, 20s–30s, Any ethnicity. An energetic, charismatic artist who embodies New York — raw, passionate, confident, with a clear city accent and authenticity. Performs during a post-fight or party sequence; must have a commanding stage presence. Open to real local artists who can bring their own material and vibe. $227 per day. DAY PLAYER [JENN] 40s, Black, Female, Plus Sized. Jenn appears during a violent road rage encounter that becomes one of Jason’s defining childhood traumas. She’s loud, intimidating, and physically explosive — her aggression escalating from verbal to physical in seconds. When challenged, she completely loses control, revealing a psychotic, almost animalistic side. $227 for one day of shooting. DAY PLAYER [JARED] Early-Mid 20s, Any Ethnicity, Male. Overweight, soft-hearted, and genuinely trying to better himself. Jared is new to the gym world — still learning the ropes, both physically and emotionally. He’s the kind of guy who laughs off his insecurities, cracks jokes to defuse tension, and wears his heart on his sleeve. There’s an innocence and decency to him that makes him instantly likable, even when he fumbles. $142 for one partial day of shooting. DAY PLAYER [ASHER] Early-Mid 20s, Any Ethnicity, Male. Skinny, eager, and just starting his self-improvement journey. Asher’s the type of guy who hides his insecurity behind enthusiasm. He’s genuine and friendly, but everything he says comes with that nervous “trying too hard” undertone. There’s a natural humor in his timing — he doesn’t mean to be funny, but the awkwardness makes him charming. $142 for one partial day of shooting. DAY PLAYER Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns & I'm looking forward to seeing your work. Thanks so much!     BASHFUL - CASTING
    I'm casting BASHFUL; a dramatic TV pilot created by Langston Brown and Sam Centurion. Storyline: When they are invited to a “networking” party, three friends and fashion students make the leap from part-time sugar babies to full time escorts.  PROJECT DETAILS: Type: TV Pilot Title: BASHFUL Directed by Sam Centurion Executive Produced by Aidan Erbter and Maja Ivaskeviciute Produced by Isabel Adamos and Sam Centurion Casting Director: Violette Trotter Rate: $200 per day Shoot Dates: March 13-18 2026 Shoot Location: New York, NY (Manhattan) CHARACTER BREAKDOWN: [NACHO] 22, Latino or Hispanic, Male. The slight-accented, self-righteously indulgent "new" kid on the block. He immigrated to New York from Spain in high school, where he met his best friend and college classmate Lionel. At NYUDA, the premiere fashion school of NYC, he aims to promote his fashion line at any cost. He’s the first to point a finger and the first to be defensive. *This role includes intimacy. Intimacy coordinator will be on set.* 5 and a half total days of shooting. LEAD [LIONEL] 21, Black, Male. The excruciatingly self-aware best friend who will demean himself however necessary if it leads to an open door. He's a bad liar, but a worse mediator between Nacho and Jasmine’s ex-relationship, and current friendship. He’s picky, in his own world, and hides his judgement of others. He prefers to play neutral, but is opinionated underneath the surface. 4 and a half total days of shooting. LEAD [JASMINE] 21, Afro-Latina, Female. Born to rule, forced to intern. She's a straight-A student and has a type-A personality. She's an opportunist, but socially aware enough to know when she's being pushy. Her love life is kept a secret from her ex-boyfriend Nacho and best friend Lionel. 3 and a half total days of shooting. LEAD [DARYLL] 50's-70's, White, Male. Daryll loves what he shouldn't be allowed to have. He has a charm to him that is always completely undone by what he says next. When he works as a modeling agent, he can be excruciatingly blunt, or unusually polite with clear intentions. Marge and Vernon are his foil. 2 total days of shooting. SUPPORTING [MARGE] 40-50, White, Female. The Dean of NYUDA and Queen of the party. A performative teacher with a fake “woke” charm. She enjoys appearing naive to exercise her power on others, and will manipulate anyone to get what she wants. *This role includes intimacy. Intimacy coordinator will be on set.* 3 total days of shooting. SUPPORTING [VERNON] 50-60, White, Male. The Hollywood of fashion and a household name, but also the kingpin of a multitude of morally wrong and illegal parties. Vernon likes to observe everyone from a distance in order to keep himself a mystery and sell his image. 2 days of shooting. SUPPORTING [ARMAUND] Late 30's, White, Male. Voyeuristic and a socialite with a lot of secrets to hide. He’s Nacho’s introduction to the world of sugar-babying, and Daryll’s accomplice and assistant. DAY PLAYER Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns & I'm looking forward to seeing your work. Thanks so much! Best, Violette Trotter | Casting Director
    Italian American Heritage Note from Carolyn Alongi McDonough + Jon Freda, Co-Producers of SAY NOTHINGEmoji the multi-awarded docu-drama play about Italian American internment in WWII--era America
    Dear friends of SAY NOTHING,
    On Friday, October 4, at the beginning of Italian American Heritage month, I was in Milan where I witnessed a nationwide general strike.
    Italians stepped up and stepped out EN MASSE in protest of and solidarity with Gaza, during which 2 MILLION Italians marched in 100+ piazzas. A cease fire and the ongoing peace process followed shortly after this massive demonstration.
    Therefore, I appeal to you on this last day of Italian American Heritage Month 2025 to PLEASE CONSIDER MAKING a FULLY TAX-DEDUCTIBLE DONATION in ANY AMOUNT to the Say Nothing Immigration Initiative.
    Donations will assist us in building awareness of this critical global issue through a fully realized staged reading of SAY NOTHING with our stellar cast and internationally renowned director, Katrin Hilbe.
    TO ALL THOSE WHO HAVE GENEROUSLY DONATED THIS YEAR, GRAZIE! PLEASE FEEL FREE TO FORWARD THIS APPEAL.
    Sincerely, Carolyn Alongi McDonough + Jon Freda, Co-Producers
