DON'T WATCH P*RN WITHOUT ME - CASTING
I'm casting DON'T WATCH P*RN WITHOUT ME, a new short film from Director, Stephan Stelman.
LOGLINE: Molly discovers her husband Dave has been secretly watching gay porn. Instead of feeling betrayed, Molly sees it as an opportunity to help Dave embrace his repressed desires. She arranges for Adam, a charismatic man, to join them and initiate Dave into new sexual experiences. What seems like an open-minded journey of self-discovery for the couple reveals deeper motivations of internalized shame, validation, and fears of abandonment simmering beneath.
PROJECT DETAILS: Type: SAG Short Film Title: DON'T WATCH P*RN WITHOUT ME Director: Stephan Stelman Casting Director: Violette Trotter Usage: Film festival circuit and TBD for future distribution Shoot Dates: May 24-27, 2024 Rate: $232 per day Shoot Location: New York, New York CHARACTER BREAKDOWNS:
[DAVE] 30-35, Any Ethnicity, Male. Molly's Husband. Struggles with repressed sexual desires towards men that he has not fully come to terms with. His upbringing instilled a strong aversion to anything outside of traditional heterosexual relationships. Dave sees his urges as a threat to his loving bond with Molly and his view of himself as a traditionally masculine partner. Dave's internal tug-of-war between fear and yearning causes him great anguish. While Dave can seem harsh at times and closed-off, it stems from decades of repression and self-denial about this aspect of his identity. *MUST BE COMFORTABLE WITH NUDITY AND DEPICTING SIMULATED HOMO & HETEROSEXUAL SEX SCENES.* LEAD
[ADAM] 30-35, Any Ethnicity, Male. Dave and Molly's Third love interest. While outwardly Adam takes on a mentorship role, guiding Dave through embracing his sexuality without judgment, there is an undercurrent of subtle manipulation. Adam seems to derive satisfaction from being the knowledgeable one introducing new experiences and blurring lines. Adam is torn between the craving for genuine intimacy and connection and by the compulsion to seize power and control within sexual situations at all costs. *MUST BE COMFORTABLE WITH NUDITY AND DEPICTING SIMULATED HOMOSEXUAL SEX SCENES.* SUPPORTING QUEER TALENT PREFERRED I'm looking forward to seeing your work! replicate Louis Armstrong's singing voice would be a huge asset.
ANNA IN THE TROPICS
[SANTIAGO]:
Male-presenting, Cuban, late 50s, owner of a cigar factory. He has a
problem with gambling that has driven a physical and emotional wedge
between him and his wife.
[CHECHÉ]: Male-presenting, half-Cuban,
half-American, early 40s. Santiago’s half-brother. He is from the North,
and since he differs from the others in this way, he is often set
against them in arguments. He advocates for mechanization and firing
lectors, while the others see hand-rolling and lector-reading as the
cornerstones of authentic cigar production. His wife, a Southern belle
from Atlanta, left him for a different lector, so Cheché reviles all
lectors and especially hates Juan Julian.
[OFELIA]:
Female-presenting, Cuban, 50s, Santiago’s wife. Powerful and
authoritative, plays a large role in running the factory when her
husband’s gambling and drinking get in the way. Nonetheless, she is not
at all a stern woman, but rather someone who enjoys fantasizing about a
better life and indulging in romantic daydreaming.
[MARELA]:
Female-presenting, Cuban, 22, Ofelia and Santiago’s youngest daughter.
She is shown throughout the play to be totally consumed by her romantic
fantasies as well as a certain youthful naïveté.
[CONCHITA]:
Female-presenting, Cuban, 32, Ofelia and Santiago’s older daughter. She
is married to Palomo, but she doesn't really spend much alone time with
him outside of the factory, where they both work as cigar rollers.

marriage is on the rocks due to Palomo’s infidelity.
[PALOMO]:
Male-presenting, Cuban, 41, Conchita’s husband, as well as a worker at
the cigar factory. Though the beginning of the play sees his marriage
with Conchita under growing strain, due to his infidelity, he eventually
learns to love Conchita again through the jealousy inspired in him by
Juan Julian.
[JUAN JULIAN]: Male-presenting, Cuban, 38, the
handsome lector from Cuba that is hired to work for the factory. His
choice to read the romantic and complex novel Anna Karenina at the
factory for his debut, inspires a great degree of personal and
interpersonal discord among the factory's workers.
[ELIADES]: Male-presenting, Cuban, 30s, local gamester, runs cockfights.
DANCING AT LUGHNASA
[MICHAEL]:
30s/40s, male-presenting, any race/ethnicity, nondisabled or disabled.

eyes. Michael has several multi-page monologues and answers as his
younger self.
[KATE]: 40, female-presenting, any race/ethnicity,
nondisabled or disabled. Kate is the eldest sister, tight and prim. She
is a schoolteacher and contributes the most to the family income.
Respected by her sisters, she is clearly the head of the family. She
feels that she is the only one who can hold everything together when the
world is falling apart, which makes her a much more terrified person
than her sisters; that terror is evident in every move she makes.
[MAGGIE]:
38, female-presenting, any race/ethnicity, nondisabled or disabled.
Second eldest and chief homemaker. While Kate works outside the home,
Maggie takes care of everything inside the home. Fun-loving, with a
serious side, Maggie carries the defusing jokes when things become
tense.
[AGNES]: 35, female-presenting, any race/ethnicity,
nondisabled or disabled. Third sister, the quiet one. Agnes is the main
sister who looks after Rose. She and Rose take in knitting to help the
family supplement their income. Agnes is patient and kind to Rose and is
particularly suspicious of Chris’ beau, Gerry.
[ROSE]: 32,
female-presenting, any race/ethnicity, nondisabled or disabled. The
fourth sister, Rose has a developmental disability as described in the
script. Her main caretaker is Agnes with whom she is particularly close.
Rose lives life with an openness that make her vulnerable and sees the
world as she finds it. She helps Agnes with the knitting and is a
delightful character.
[CHRISTINA]: 26, female-presenting, any
race/ethnicity, nondisabled or disabled. The youngest of the sisters,
Chris has a child, Michael, out of wedlock. Her beau has a lust for
adventure, quick money and travel and she is easily swept off her feet
by his attentions. She is a good mother to young Michael, but her
sisters often chide her carefree outlook. (Intimate moments required)
[GERRY]:
33, male-presenting, any race/ethnicity, nondisabled or disabled. Gerry
is the wanderlust who breezes into the Mundy household between
adventures. We see him several times during this summer of 1936 and each
time he brings tales of his success, his plans for the future and the
promise of a bike for young Michael. (Intimate moments required)
[JACK]:
53, male-presenting, any race/ethnicity, nondisabled or disabled. Uncle
Jack, a priest, has spent most of his adult time at a mission in
Abyssinia in Africa. Sent home because he could no longer distinguish
Catholic ritual from native, he spends the last summer of his life with
his five sisters relearning English and presenting a reason why the
local priest no longer visits the family.
GOODNIGHT OSCAR
[BOB
SARNOFF]: 40s/50s. male-presenting, White, nondisabled or disabled. The
reigning president of NBC during television’s Golden Age.

PAAR]: 30s/40s, male-presenting, White, nondisabled or disabled. Bob
Sarnoff’s contemporary, and America’s smoothest talker.
[JUNE
LEVANT]: 30s/40s, female-presenting, any race/ethnicity, nondisabled or
disabled. Attractive and gracious under pressure. Seemingly put-upon,
she actually has a core of steel.
[ALVIN FINNEY]: 20s/30s,
male-presenting, Black, nondisabled or disabled. A young medical orderly
working in the mental ward at Mt. Sinai, with a droll sense of humor
and serious ambition.
[MAX WEINBAUM]: 20s, male-presenting, any
race/ethnicity, nondisabled or disabled. Jack Paar’s new production
assistant. A young man whose ingratiating enthusiasm is matched only by
his comic ineptitude.
[OSCAR LEVANT]: Just over 50,
male-presenting Jewish, nondisabled or disabled. he’s got the face of a
movie gangster, the posture of a sad sack, and enough scabrous wit for
the whole Algonquin Round Table.

He’s got the tapered physique of an athlete, a winning grin, and the
most celebrated career in American popular music.

"David" A New Musical
Synopsis:
David, leader of Israel, and Nathan, his long-time friend and political
opponent, spend one day together from sunrise to sunset dealing with
issues of power and politics. Their discussions bring them back into the
past where we experience the rise, fall, and rise again of David as a
young man. In this dream-like world of memory, the past and present
commingle. While David is written in a contemporary style and understood
in modern terms, the story is filled with issues that are relevant
today: ambition, ethics, compromise, and friendship.
David:
Leader of Israel. He is in the sunset of his life as we meet him, but he
still conveys force, power, intelligence, and stubbornness. 60s+,
Baritone, red or light hair.
Nathan: A prophet. David’s best friend
and political adversary. Though he may be smaller in stature than David
he is equally stubborn with a great sense of humor. 60s+, Baritenor,
5’10” or under.
Saul: King of Israel until dethroned by David. He is a
warrior, though often angry and fearful. Very wary of David. 50s, any
ethnicity, Baritone/Bass.

David’s friend. A strong and valiant soldier with a striking presence
and fierce sense of humor. 20s/30s, any ethnicity, Baritone
Young
David: Our hero in the prime of his youth. We watch him grow from a meek
young man to a charismatic leader and force to be reckoned with after
he slays Goliath. 20s, Tenor, red or light hair.
Michal: David's wife
and Jonathan's sister. A lovely, spirited, intelligent woman who we
watch grow from a young lover to a strong wife to an independent woman.

Solomon: David's son and
the future king. Supportive of his father, knowing he will pave his own
way once he assumes the throne. 20s-30s, any ethnicity, Tenor.
Achish:
A Philistine and King of the city of Gath. Agrees to help David, but at
a cost. An energetic, conspiring man. 50s+, any ethnicity, Baritone.

10 years, just moved in last week, so it does happen, if you are
patient. Since they are opening this list, it is possible it may
move more quickly, but as someone who has worked with Affordable
Housing for last few years, nothing about it is instant. Good luck to all eligible:
