FREE ZOOM THEATER + SEATTLE MAINSTAGE 2026

Dear Rainy Day Community,

Hope you are having an excellent fall. As 2025 quickly approaches its end, we are getting ready to announce our 2026 projects as well as ending 2025 strong!

TWISTED TALES IS NEXT WEEKEND!

Join us for our annual year-end tradition, the Twisted Tales Virtual One Act Festival! This year's performance features 5 fabulous short plays, all providing anew twist on a familiar tale. We have takes on Rumpelstiltskin, The Boy Who Cried Wolf, The Wizard of Oz, The Picture of Dorian Gray, and the Hades and Persephone Myth.

Attendance is free, and you can RSVP to either performance (or both!) using the link herehttps://events.humanitix.com/twisted-tales-2025-one-act-festival

There may also be some announcements you won't want to miss...

We hope to see you there!

ANNOUNCING OUR FIRST SEATTLE MAINSTAGE OF 2026!

That's right, we said first... more to come on that as we work to slowly expand our Seattle-area offerings (we will continue to have a robust online presence too).

Audition sign ups are now live for "The Dead Guy" by Eric Coble, which some of you who've been here a while may remember we did virtually back in 2022. Although we don't currently plan on doing this for any of our other past virtual mainstages, we felt it was time to bring this one back, to a "traditional" (i.e. in person) stage this time. Unfortunately due to venue and licensing restrictions, we will not be able to livestream this show's performances for our non-Seattle area audiences. We hope to be able to do this for future shows.

This production will be directed by Jack Seamus and stage managed by Wren Svoboda. Expected cast size is 6-7 people, and we encourage anyone who is interested to audition!

Performances will take place at Theatre Puget Sound's Theatre4 in Seattle, WA from Feb. 27-March 8, 2026 (a 2-weekend, 6-performance run) and rehearsals will start in January 2026.

General auditions are on Dec. 15th and 16th, 2025, and callbacks will take place by invitation on Dec. 19th, 2025.

All cast and crew will receive a modest stipend for their time and talent.

ROMEO AND JULIET READING

Those of you who have been around for a while may remember the "Rainy Day Read Throughs" program that started it all - before Virtual One Act Festivals, before MainStages, before anything else, this is what our group came together to do. For those not familiar with what these are, they are simply a group of Rainy Day community members coming together to read and talk about a script. No rehearsal, no performance, just one session of enjoying and analyzing a script together. Some of these readings did go on to become MainStage productions (virtual and in person both), and that can be one purpose of these readings, but it's not the primary function of the event.

We haven't done them in a couple of years as our activities have shifted a bit and other projects have taken priority, but we're going to try one out again - for fun, for community, and to test out if it's something we want to bring back on a more regular basis.

This reading will be a cut of Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet," and if you are interested in taking part (as a reader or as an observer), sign up by filling out this form here: https://forms.gle/fP8KhAtYV4QeDAeN8. We will be closing sign-ups on December 3rd.

If you have already signed up, no need to fill out the form again - we will be in touch in early December.

The exact date and time are TBD - the date will be chosen based on the greatest number of people available that day, but we're currently looking at the week of January 5th, 2026.

Want to be present/participate in the discussion but don't want to read? Sign up anyway as an audience member! Although this will not be livestreamed or broadcast to the public, all are welcome.

JOIN US ON DISCORD!

We've had a Discord server for a little while now, but we will be trying to use it for more things in 2026, potentially including some virtual auditions. Don't miss out - join us on Discord today!

You can also follow us on our new BlueSky @rdacofficial.bsky.social, or Instagram @rdacofficial2020, or Facebook (Rainy Day Artistic Collective).

Thank you for being a truly wonderful community - we would not be here without you! We'll check in again in December, but in the meantime, we wish you joy and peace through any upcoming holidays you may be celebrating.

Warmly,

Jack, Koda, Kat, and Andy
