A24 FEATURE FILM - Foreign Language Speakers
We are a NYC based casting company https://www.jv8inc.com (we have worked on casting such projects as HBO's Euphoria and The Sympathizer, as well as A24's Uncut Gems and C'mon C'mon).
We are currently doing a NY LOCAL search for the following roles in the new A24 feature film for various supporting roles (A24 is the production company behind such films as Everything Everywhere All At Once, Civil War and MaXXXine)

No previous acting experience is required. Just people open to new experiences. This a paid opportunity and talent needs to be based in NY or willing to work as a NY local hire.

JAPANESE SPEAKERS: 20 to 70 years old, Japanese men and women. Please submit fluent Japanese speakers for a variety of day player roles. NY LOCAL. DAY PLAYER. MUST SPEAK FLUENT JAPANESE. DENOTE IN SUBMISSION IN NOTES.
ROMANIAN & POLISH SPEAKERS: Male. 50 - 70. Please submit fluent ROMANIAN and POLISH speakers for a day player role. NY LOCAL. DAY PLAYER. PLEASE DENOTE WHAT LANGUAGE(S) ACTOR SPEAKS.
FRENCH TEEN: Male. 11-14 years old. White. Male. 11-14 years old. White. A teen dines with his family in a Parisian restaurant. MUST BE ABLE TO SPEAK FRENCH WITH AN AUTHENTIC FRENCH ACCENT.
NY LOCAL FOREIGNER ROLE: Male. 20s-early 30s. European / Eastern European / Indian / Middle Eastern / East & Central Asian, and Brazilian performers. Must be a native speaker of a non-English language. MUST SPEAK ENGLISH WITH AN AUTHENTIC FOREIGN ACCENT. MUST BE A NY LOCAL OR WILLING TO WORK AS A NY LOCAL HIRE. MUST ALREADY HAVE US WORKING PAPERS. ROLE SHOOTS ONE DAY. PLEASE DENOTE WHAT LANGUAGE(S) ACTOR SPEAKS.

HOW TO SUBMIT:
Please fill out the following form and submit interview video + photos if you would like to be considered for this project!
1) INTERVIEW VIDEO (IN ENGLISH)
SLATE QUESTIONS:
a) What is your name?

INTERVIEW QUESTIONS: Please tape yourself answering these questions candidly as possible and unrehearsed. It should be conversational, not written down, or memorized.
d) how would your friends describe you? How would your enemies describe you?
e) describe the last dream or nightmare you had.
f) describe the last great day you had.
HOW TO CREATE THE INTERVIEW VIDEO:
- Please try to keep the video no longer than 8 minutes long
- If you use your phone to record your interview, please make sure to shoot it HORIZONTALLY (not vertically).
- Please make sure to set up the camera so it is facing you (frame from chest up) and speak directly into it to tell your story.
- Do NOT film in front of a backdrop/sheet. You can tape yourself outside, in your car, in your bedroom, etc.
2) VIDEO 2:
If auditioning for the roles of FLUENT ROMANIAN SPEAKERS, FLUENT JAPANESE SPEAKERS, OR 14 YEAR OLD FRENCH KID, please IMPROV instructions below:
In the requested language (ROMANIAN, JAPANESE OR FRENCH) , please give me walking directions to your home using the local shortcuts.
3) PHOTOS:
Please submit 2 current, non-professional photos - 1 full body shot & 1 close up. These can be as simple as phone pictures against a plain wall in a well lit area (by a window with natural light is always best).
If you have issues uploading or accessing the form below, simply email your videos, photos and contact info to castingcall@jv8inc.com. Sometimes videos, if filmed in HD, can be too large in size to upload to this google form. We recommend using Quicktime to compress the video file to something smaller in size. You do this by opening the video in Quicktime and selecting File -> Export As -> 720p or 480p.
