audition--write your TRUE STORY about motherhood (1000 words MAX), then
sign up to READ your essay at the in-person audition or submit a

LISTEN
TO YOUR MOTHER is a well-crafted 90-minute journey of true stories
about motherhood—being a mom, having a mom, losing a mom, finding a
mom—as many interpretations on the theme as you can imagine. From
hilarious and heartwarming to emotionally intense and profoundly
painful.
Rehearsal and Production Dates & Locations
January 21, 2023, 10AM - 2PM - Auditions (Ripley-Grier Studios 131 W. 72nd St -- must sign up via link)
February (tbd) - one ZOOM one-on-one read-through with director (max 1 hour)
March 5, 2023, 1-4 PM - full cast ZOOM rehearsal
March 29, 2023, 7-9 PM - full cast ZOOM read-through
March 31, 2023, 5-10 PM - Dress Rehearsal @ Theatre 71 (152 W. 71st St)
April 1, 2023, 1-9 PM - Two shows 3PM & 7 PM @ Theatre 71

Additional Instructions:
Write
your 1000 word (or fewer) essay about motherhood--it can be about any
aspect of motherhood from any angle/perspective--we are looking for
happy, sad, heartwarming, and, of course, FUNNY. At the audition, you
will READ your essay. Do not memorize it. When read aloud, your piece
should be no longer than 7 minutes. If chosen for the cast, you agree in
advance that the director will edit your essay to fit the show's needs.

Auditions are in-person Saturday, January 21, 2023, 10AM-2PM at
Ripley-Grier Studios (131 W. 72nd St, studio 2F, NY, NY 10023). You must

If
you can't make the live audition, you can self-tape. Write a 5-7 minute
essay (1000 words or fewer). Self-tape yourself reading the essay
aloud. Transfer your self-tape via https://wetransfer.com/ to heather@heatherchristiebooks.com. Also, email a copy of your essay to heather@heatherchristiebooks.com. All self-tapes are due by January 21, 2023.
