Production Description

Casting Equity Actors for "Harmony" an Equity stage play. All stage managerial positions have been filled. The Producer is committed to diversity and encourages performers of all ethnicities, gender identities, and ages, as well as performers with disabilities, to submit.

Pays: $1,300.00/ Week

Total: $1,300.00 per week (Estimated duration: (Estimated duration: Not Provided))

Additional: Equity Contract Development Agreement $1300 weekly minimum (Tier 3) $181 weekly health payments are made on behalf of each Equity member, as well as 8% pension. All participants receive Contingent Compensation - they share in 1% of Net Profits of the entity which produces the first commercial production, once the entity has recouped 110% of its capitalization. The participation continues for 10 years following the first payment once the entity achieves 110% recoupment.

Character Breakdown

SEEKING:
All should be excellent actors, singers with strong music reading skills, and be able to dance or move
well.

RUTH – Ruth Stern, a gorgeous, dark-haired woman of great passion for many causes, and equally
great emotional volatility. A Jew. She is terrifically courageous—almost to a fault. Her sexuality is as
passionate as her eventual husband’s—Chopin. One of the two “mixed” marriages. Mezzo, belter, C
natural in belt, D natural in head.

ROLES CAST:
RABBI – ROLE IS CAST - “Rabbi” Josef Roman Cykowski, our narrator. Wise, truthful, selfdeprecating. A sharp wit. Finds it easy to be funny. A peacemaker. A conflict avoider. A devout Jew. A
Polish émigré, his speech is colored with Yiddish inflection but no accent. An inveterate nosher. He
struggles with his memory. He is bearing a burden of some kind. High Baritone-Tenor with a high F#.
Note: With the exception of the role of Rabbi, the other eight principal characters are all 28 to 35 years
old at the onset of the show.
