For
consideration, prepare a brief song in the style of the show(s) in the
season. It is strongly preferred that talent sings one brief selection
geared towards one show or the other. Bring a headshot and resume
stapled together. If unable to attend this in-person audition,
performers may send a picture and resume for consideration to submissions@michaelcassara.net.
ECC
for Dancers and EPA will be held in March. ECC Procedures are in effect
for this audition. An Equity Monitor will be provided. Always bring
your Equity Membership card to auditions.
Equity encourages
everyone participating in the auditions to wear a two-ply cloth face
mask, surgical mask, singer’s mask, or respirator (N95, KN95, or KF94).
Single-ply face masks, gaiters, and bandanas are not recommended.

Equity encourages members to prepare for their audition prior to
arriving at the audition venue, to the extent that they can (e.g., get
dressed, hair/make-up, etc.) to avoid crowding in bathrooms and dressing
rooms.
The maximum capacity in the holding room is 80. The maximum capacity in the audition room is 28.

Seeking:

Male Apollo Performer + Others: Black, mid 20s-30s, male.
Instrumentalist a major plus (ideally sax, harmonica, or a brass
instrument - trumpet, trombone, etc.). Should be a good singer, with
movement abilities. Will double as ensemble roles.
- Female Apollo
Performer + Others: Black, mid 20s-30s, female. The instrumental ability
of any sort a plus - performer should be a singer, with a big voice
(sings “Shout”) and movement abilities. Will double as ensemble roles.

Murray Deutch + Others: white, 40s, male. A longtime music industry
executive who helps propel Buddy Holly and the Crickets to stardom. Very
New York. Must sing and will ideally also be an instrumentalist,
playing one of the following instruments at a solid level: sax, trumpet,
trombone, violin, piano, guitar, bass, drums. Will double as ensemble
roles.
- Tommy Allsup + Others: white, early 20s, male. Plays electric guitar at an advanced level. Will double as ensemble roles.

Mary Lou Sokolof/Shirley/Ensemble: any ethnicity, 20s-30s, female.
Strong ensemble singer and dancer. Instrumental ability a major plus.

Jack Daw + Others: any ethnicity, 20s-30s, male. Strong ensemble singer
and dancer. Instrumental ability a major plus (particularly sax,
trumpet, trombone, violin, piano, guitar, bass, drums.)

“Singin’ In The Rain”
Seeking:

Dora Bailey: any ethnicity, 30s-40s, female. A prying and powerful
gossip columnist and radio announcer. Will likely also play other roles.
- Zelda Zanders: any ethnicity, late 20s-early 30s, female. A
flapper socialite and actress who is on her ninth marriage. She is a
friend and informant to Lina. Will likely also play other roles.

Rod: any ethnicity, early 50s-60s, male. An excitable film agent who
borders on manic and works under Simpson. Will likely also play other
roles.
- Ensemble Tenor: any ethnicity, 20s, strong lyric tenor. Excellent singer who dances well. Will likely also play other roles.

singer/dancers (particularly tap) to play a variety of roles.
