Thank you for your interest in submitting a video audition.
Please read everything below carefully!
IMPORTANT INFO:
- Your tape must be submitted no later than Saturday, FEBRUARY 25th at 6pm EST.
- This is an EQUITY 29-Hour Reading. However, Tapes submitted by NON-UNION
members WILL be viewed and considered. You must be able to provide transportation
to and from rehearsal. Housing will NOT be provided.
- Rehearsals run MARCH 19-22, 2023, with a performance date of MARCH 23. If you
are not available for ALL of these dates, please do not submit.
- While we are not able to respond to every submission, we will review all videos and
be in touch via email or phone if we need anything further.

TAPING INSTRUCTIONS:
- Please start the tape by slating your name, height, and where you’re currently based.
- Please sing a provided cut from one of the characters you are submitting for. If you
choose to sing from your book you may, however it is STRONGLY recommended to
learn he material.
- Please send your video on ONE non-expiring link with the option to download (a
Dropbox, Vimeo, or Google Drive link is preferred. Please no WeTransfer). If
using Vimeo, please make sure the settings allow for a download. If using Google
Drive, please make sure the video can be viewed without requesting access. We will
not request access to view your tape.
- Please film your audition in front of a clean background, with no backlighting. As
much as possible, limit ambient noise.

Casting and seeking crew for a 29-hour workshop of "'Every Wednesday Night," a new musical.

Synopsis: "Every Wednesday Night" is the remarkable true story of a man, dealing with the loss of his father, who steps into a karaoke bar one night, and finds something that changes his life forever. 

Actors

Jade: Lead, Female, 25-35 

(Mezzo/belter) Female identifying. Jon’s wife, and expectant mother. Quick witted, incredibly supportive, but stubborn. Jon’s number one supporter, and his biggest critic.

Ronnie: Lead, Male, 60-75 

• (Baritone) Male Identifying. Long time karaoke die hard, and Sinatra style crooner. To Ronnie, there is no difference between singing up on stage every week, or headlining the Copa Cabana. The ultimate bachelor, Ronnie doesn’t duet; on stage or in life, instead he keeps it solo.

  Michelle: Lead, Female, 29-40

  •  (Soprano, belter) Female identifying. When you need to get something done, Michelle is the person you go to. After years of Bartending and breaking her back for her greasy bosses, while dodging Jimmy’s constant flirtatious remarks, Michelle dreams of going back to school for business to start managing her life for a change, instead of tending someone else’s bar.

      (Tenor) Male identifying. Height: 5’5”-5’8”. While he may just be your average grease monkey desperate for a date with Michelle, when “Karaoke Jim” takes the stage he becomes a legend. Belting Guns and Roses, Led Zeppelin, and Styx is a drive in the car for Jimmy, but it may just be the only thing he’s got going for him at the moment.

  (Baritone) Male identifying. Born and raised in Jersey, Bobby G is just a typical joe with a Brassy personality. A heart working, devoted husband to Gloria, Bobby G’s recent departure from his job has put added stress on the typically light hearted man

(Mezzo) A devoted and loving wife, Gloria and Bobby have been together for years, and built a wonderful life together. Gloria's biggest priority is making sure that she and Bobby have a safe place to live, as they begin their later years of life. She also doubles as Teresa, the gum chewing "floozy" who works as the DeLuigi's secretary.

  (Alto) Female identifying. Cool and edgy, Kathy always seems to get the last word in. Well-spoken and sassy to boot, she is what would appear to be the leader of the inseparable trio of karaoke bar flies.

(Tenor) Male identifying. While KJ Vinny is everyone's favorite “Karaoke Jokey,” for making their karaoke fantasies come true, Vin has grown tired of hearing the same classics be butchered every Wednesday night. He dreams of karaoke bar of his own, where he can restrict certain songs from being murdered.

  Lisa the Hat: Supporting, Female, 25-40 
  (Soprano) Female identifying. Latino/Hispanic. One of Kathy’s crew, the self-proclaimed "Lisa the Hat" is an Escondido regular, who never goes anywhere without her signature headgear. She is always at the center of what is going on with the other members of her “crazy karaoke family.” Must be able to sing incredibly high rock harmonies.

Male identifying/gender fluid. Rounding out Kathy’s trio is Anthony, the resident diva. Always the first to a quip and the life of the party, Anthony is always in the spotlight. Or at least he thinks he is.

  (Tenor) Our stories hero, Jon has been struggling with the loss of his karaoke loving father, while also finding out he will soon be welcoming his own child into the world. While searching for closure, he one day steps into a small town karaoke bar and learns finds out there may have been a reason for his arrival there.

Rehearsal and Production Dates & Locations

Rehearses Mar. 19-22 at Pearl Studios; workshop runs Mar. 23 at Pearl Studios.Compensation & Contract Detail 

Total Pay: $500.00 - $1,000.00 for an estimated 5 days of work (flat rate) 

Additional: Pay rate is dependent on Union status, as well as hours worked within the week. This will be run as a traditional 29 hr. workshop. No participation fees will be required. Travel compensation will not be provided.
