includes "Beautiful: The Carole King Musical" (Joyce Chittick,
dir.-choreo. Rehearsals begin Jun. 5 in Aspen, CO; runs Jun. 22-Jul. 8),
and "Rent" (Andy SeƱor Jr., dir. Rehearsals begin Jul. 17 in NYC;
travels to Aspen, CO, Jul. 30; runs Aug. 5-26).

Video submission instructions: Video submission must be either a direct
link or an attached file; resume and headshot must be sent as
attachments labeled with the talent's name. Do not send links that need
to be downloaded. Video preparation instructions: In the recording,
talent must slate their name, height, and location. Record in landscape
format, making sure talent is visible from head to toe. Tape the

In-person callbacks will be held Feb. 22-28, 2023 in NYC.

Note:
“Rent” is a rock opera set in New York’s Lower East Side in the shadow
of AIDS in the late 80s/early 90s. We encourage performers of all
ethnicities, gender identities, and ages, as well as performers with
disabilities, to submit.

Ensemble: Male and Female
Identifying. Ages 20-39. Excellent contemporary Musical Theatre /pop
singers. All vocal ranges. Excellent dancers and movers to play featured
roles that include Homeless Men & Women, Junkies, Parents (Mrs.
Cohen & Mrs. Jefferson), Support Group members (Steve & Gordon)
as well as cover Principals.
“Beautiful: The Carole King Musical”
Seeking:

The Shirelles / Female Ensemble: African American Women. 20s-30s
Appealing, attractive, charismatic singer/movers to portray Lucille
(Don’s tough as nails secretary), Shirley (A Shirelle who sings lead on
“Will You Love Me Tomorrow”), Little Eva (Carole’s babysitter, turned
singing sensation of “The Locomotion”), Janelle Woods (A gorgeous singer
who sings lead on “One Fine Day”), among others. Sing and move
extremely well. Belt/Mix.
- The Drifters / Male Ensemble: African
American Men. 20s-30s. Appealing, attractive, charismatic singer/movers
to portray various roles, including The Drifters, who are featured in
songs including “On Broadway”, “Up on the Roof” and “Some Kind of
Wonderful.” Extremely strong singer/movers. All vocal types. High tenors
& baritones with top notes are encouraged to submit.
- Nick /
Low Righteous Brother / Male Ensemble: Caucasian Man. 20s-30s. A low
Baritone/Bass. A strong singer to play Nick (an attractive, friendly
guitarist at the Bitter End), half of the Righteous Brothers duo who
sing “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling”) & others. An excellent
singer with low baritone / bass notes. Role potentially understudies
Gerry Goffin.
- Lou Adler / High Righteous Brother / Male Ensemble:
Caucasian Man. 20s-30s. A strong singer to play Lou Adler (the genius
music producer), Bobby Hatfield (half of the Righteous Brothers duo who
sing “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling”) and others. An excellent singer
with strong rock high tenor notes. Role potentially understudies Barry
Mann.
- Marilyn / Betty Female Ensemble: Caucasian Woman. 20s-E30s. A
strong singer to portray Marilyn (a gorgeous singer with a great
voice), Betty (Carole’s appealing, perky best friend in high school) and
others. An extremely strong singer. Belt/mix. Role potentially
understudies Cynthia Weil and Carole King.
