playwright. Rehearsals begin Jan. 16, 2024; closes March 24, 2024),
"Othello: The Remix" (Q Brothers, GQ & JQ, playwrights. Rehearsals

For consideration, schedule an in-person audition time by completing the form at www.stageshouston.com/join-our-team.
Audition preparation instructions: Talent has two minutes to show
whatever they like: monologue(s) and/or song(s). Songs may be sung a
cappella, or a pianist will be present. Form completion deadline is
March 8 (11:59 p.m. CT). Time slots will be finalized by March 9.
Video audition submissions are accepted through the form at www.stageshouston.com/join-our-team.
Talent has two minutes to show whatever they like: monologue(s) and/or
song (s). If they choose to include a song, it may be a cappella or they
may use accompaniment. Video formats accepted: .mp4, .MOV, Vimeo,
Google Drive, and YouTube, with a preference for a URL over a file.
Presentation: Slate name, union status, location, and the piece(s)
they're auditioning with. Video submission deadline is March 13 (11:59
p.m. CT).

All
productions are rehearsed and performed indoors at Stages. An Equity
Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this
audition. Always bring your Equity Membership card to auditions.
Equity
encourages everyone participating in the auditions to wear a two-ply
cloth face mask, surgical mask, singer’s mask, or respirator (N95, KN95,
or KF94). Single-ply face masks, gaiters, and bandanas are not
recommended. Singer’s masks can be found at www.broadwayreliefproject.com/singersmask.
Equity encourages members to prepare for their audition prior to
arriving at the audition venue, to the extent that they can (e.g., get
dressed, hair/make-up, etc.) to avoid crowding in bathrooms and dressing
rooms.
The audition room can accommodate no more than 49
individuals at a time. The holding room can accommodate no more than 100
individuals at a time.

“Potus”
From
the playwright, “In America: Bernadette is white. Margaret is Black.
Chris is Black. Jean, Harriet, Dusty and Stephanie can be played by
actors of any ethnicity, but be aware that lines and relationships will
land differently depending on the racial breakdown of the cast... At
least three of the characters must be women of color. Actors can be cis
or trans. Age is flexible. Beauty is subjective. So long as they’re
fast, fierce, and [*******] hilarious.”
