TATOS CARTOZIAN / ROBERT ZAKIAN: TATOS CARTOZIAN (50s-60s) is an Armenian immigrant. Distinguished, thoughtful, proud. English is not his first language. Father to Hazel and Vahan.
ROBERT ZAKIAN (50s – 60s) an Armenian-American City Councilman in Glendale, California. Affable, curious, a little lonely.
MARKRID CARTOZIAN / ROSE SARKISIAN: MARKRID CARTOZIAN (70s) is an Armenian immigrant and the Cartozian matriarch. Sharp, watchful, opinionated. Struggles with English but is intent on making herself heard. Mother to Tatos. ROSE SARKISIAN (60s) is Armenian-American and an active philanthropist in the Glendale Armenian community. She is glamorous, pointed, and stubborn.
WALLACE MCCAMANT / ALAN O'BRIEN: WALLACE McCAMANT (Late 30s-Early 40s) is an English-American and Irish-American attorney taking on the Cartozian case. He is an experienced lawyer, intelligent, eager, and a little thin-skinned. ALAN O’BRIEN (Late 30s-Early 40s) is IrishAmerican and a producer on a reality show. Enthusiastic, curious, a little impulsive, he has his own agenda.
HAZEL CARTOZIAN / THE CELEBRITY: HAZEL CARTOZIAN (20s-30s) is an Armenian immigrant, whose facility with English often places her in the role of family translator. Deeply intelligent and cultured, balancing her own curiosity with the limits of the time. THE CELEBRITY (20s–30s) Armenian-American. She is famous and beautiful, also child-like and strange.
VAHAN CARTOZIAN / NARDEK VARTOUMIAN: VAHAN CARTOZIAN (Late 20s-Early 30s) is an Armenian immigrant. He is eager, puppy-like, yet an alpha presence. NARDEK VARTOUMIAN (Late 20s-Early 30s) Armenian-American, he is an academic and a progressive, intellectual and thoughtful.
THE WOMAN / LESLIE: THE WOMAN (40s-60s) is an Armenian immigrant and is someone who has been through something very traumatic. LESLIE (40s-60s) Armenian-American, an activist, warm, opinionated, deeply passionate, and often strident.
