Casting Equity actors for "Memorial." Synopsis: When her “untraditional” memorial is selected to commemorate Vietnam veterans on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., 21-year-old Maya Lin finds herself caught between the angry veterans, an indecisive Congress, and her own fierce belief in her art. Is democracy about compromise and working together, no matter how painful? Or is it about speaking your truth even when no one listens?

First generation Chinese American; winner of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial design competition and rising architect; a unique blend of naivete from being 21 with fierce commitment to her art.

Role cast; seeking understudy; a renowned landscape architect of Japanese American descent; grew up in the farming community of Central Valley in California and was forced into internment camps as a youth; even tempered and a good mentor to Maya Lin.

Rehearsal and Production Dates & Locations

Rehearsals begin Dec. 27 at A.R.T./New York Studios and Ripley Grier Studios at 520 8th Ave building; runs Jan. 19-Feb. 19, 2023 at Mezzanine Theatre at A.R.T./New York Theatre in NYC.
