Production Description

Tangled Dance Company are looking for 1 Female contemporary Dancer & 1 Male Actor to join the team for 2022 creation (ACE funded) in Greater Manchester.



The roles involve being part of a new creation, an adaptable, site sensitive production with a whimsical narrative and working with a cast of dancers & actors. The production is being created with a view to touring museums, galleries, libraries and heritage buildings in the North West (anticipated 2022-2023).

Actors & Performers

Male Actor: Male, 30-60

We are looking for an actor who can help shape a key character in our new whimsical, site sensitive production, leading audiences from one eclectic room to the next. We are interested in actors who are open minded and open to working with dancers, confident physical theatre abilities and interested in exploring a new way of working. The role involves working alongside 5 contemporary dancers and 1 actor; we are looking to explore the movement conversation between actors and dancers.

Character age: approx 30 - 60

Character traits: Quirky, scatty, likeable, old soul, bumbly, straggly/scrappy appearance. Envisaging a gritty northern accent (but open to interpretation).

The role focuses on mannerisms and physical gestures; some script/poetry included.

Rehearsal and Production Dates & Locations

Artists ideally based in Greater Manchester; must be northern based

Professional Pay

Additional: Fees: £130 per day for rehearsals + travel expenses.
