Happy Pride! We hope you're having a fabulous June so far - we're excited to share with you what we've got in the works, including announcing our next mainstage show...
FALL SEATTLE MAINSTAGE ANNOUNCEMENT - RADIUM GIRLS!
Rainy Day is excited to finally announce our Fall 2026 "in person" mainstage - Radium Girls by D.W. Gregory! This is an exciting milestone for our fledgling company as it's the first season where we've been able to produce two in person mainstages as part of our season. Huge thanks to our community (you!), our venue (ReAct Theatre), and everyone involved in making this happen.
Auditions will be held in person on July 8th and 9th with callbacks by invitation on July 12th.

We're excited to be working with a new-to-us performance venue, ReAct Theatre, for this production, and to increase our run length from six to seven performances, all happening between September 18-27.
At this time we're also looking for a stage manager, dramaturg, and costume designer. If you're in the Seattle area (or anywhere if you're interested in doing dramaturgy) and would like to be considered for one or more of those positions, please reach out to Jack Seamus at jasperjackc@gmail.com.
Tickets will be on sale soon - unfortunately we won't be able to livestream this one for our audiences in other locales (though we dearly hope to be able to do this for some mainstages in the future as resources and budget may allow), but if you're in the Seattle area we hope to see you in the audience this fall!
QUEER VOICES 2026 VIRTUAL ONE ACT FESTIVAL!
Pride Month is here, and with it, we're hard at work rehearsing our Queer Voices Virtual One Act Festival! As a collection of short plays focused around queer writers and stories, this is shaping up to be a fun and meaningful evening of free virtual theatre that we hope you'll be able to join us for. You have just two chances to see the show: 6:30pm PST (9:30pm EST) on Saturday July 27th, and 3pm PST (6pm EST) on Sunday July 28th. All included pieces will be shown during both performances - the line up will be the same.

HALLOWEEN VIRTUAL MONOLOGUE SHOWCASE!
This year, we're bringing back the Halloween Virtual Monologue Showcase, which will take place virtually October 25th at 12pm PST - mark your calendars! Script submissions have closed (we are in the process of reviewing all submissions and will get back to everyone who submitted a piece by the end of this month), but we will still need actors, so keep your eyes out for a casting call!
These events usually have an Emcee as well to keep things moving along smoothly - if you're interested in volunteering as the Emcee for this event, please reach out. As this is a 100% virtual event the Emcee can participate from anywhere - we'd also ask to have a call/meeting sometime in the week or two before the show just to ensure we're all on the same page about how things will run day-of.
RAINY DAY READ THROUGHS!
Our "Rainy Day Read Throughs" continue! The goal is to have one every other month or so, possibly more often when things fall into place in just the right way.
We're currently looking for actors for our July Readthrough, which will be Moliere's "Tartuffe," hosted by community member Chance Dudley. This reading will take place over Zoom on July 14th at 6pm PST (9pm EST). If you're available and interested, please sign up at this link: . The deadline will be June 29th or whenever we have enough actors available to cast the piece, whichever comes first.
Our August reading will most likely be "The Tempest" and we have a host attached, but sign ups aren't quite open yet - if you want to be notified when those sign ups are open, please let us know.
Last but not least, we're also looking for someone to step in to read the role of "Honey" for our "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" readthrough on Saturday, June 20th at 3:30pm PST (6:30pm EST). If you're interested and available, please reach out!
Additionally, if you'd like to volunteer to help host a future Readthrough, reach out and we'd love to give you more info - your volunteership will help us host these readings regularly!
And as always, if you have suggestions for plays, there's a place on all of our sign up forms to suggest them, or you can email us with your suggestions and we'll add them to our running list - we haven't selected readings for Fall yet. We're most likely to choose plays that are free to read somewhere online, as this makes scripts far more accessible to our readers.
