STARDUST - CASTING

I'm casting STARDUST; a dramatic punk short written and directed by Abbie Jones (THE FRENCH ITALIAN), produced by Christine Ji (CAUGHT STEALING), with Daniel Patrick Brennan DPing.

Elsie Fisher (EIGHTH GRADE) is set as "Scarlet," Max Isaacs (2026 Cannes Official Selection: SUNDAY'S CHILDREN) is set as "Jack," Vlad Mamai (ANORA) is set as "Chris," Dion Costelloe (MESSY, THE DEUCE) is set as "Bartender," and Malice K is set as "Rex."

Logline: Across one night in a Lower East Side venue, a young female musician SCARLET working backstage is sent off to fufill an absurd rider of a spiraling rock band. She becomes both witness to and caretaker of their unraveling. The film explores what it means to orbit other people’s dreams while quietly protecting your own.

Casting Director: Violette Trotter

Rate: $250 per day

Shoot Dates: July 15-19

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN:

[PLANT STORE OWNER] Male; 40 to 65 years old; any ethnicities. A beloved local plant shop owner with decades of New York stories under their belt. Quick-witted, observant, and delightfully eccentric. In the scene, the shop owner is selling Scarlet our protagonist a bonsai tree. He's a stickler and takes the responsibility seriously, because he genuinely cares about the plants in his shop. Seeking an actor with strong character presence. New Yorkers, immigrants, and first-generation actors are especially encouraged to submit. 1 shooting day. DAY PLAYER

[MTV REPORTER] Male; 20 to 35 years old; any ethnicities. An eager young music journalist who's a little too excited to be interviewing a legendary rock band. Smart, awkward, and unable to hide their enthusiasm. They arrive over prepared but have a habit of asking the wrong question at exactly the wrong time. Endearingly earnest, they want to be taken seriously but often struggle to read the room.

Seeking an actor with strong comedic timing and awkward charm. 1 day of shooting. DAY PLAYER

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns & I'm looking forward to seeing your work. Thanks so much!
