Production Description

Casting Equity actors for the Bay Area Playwrights Festival. Note: . We are accepting submissions from anywhere in the United States. Local Bay Area actors particularly encouraged to submit.

Rehearsal and Production Dates & Locations

Rehearses June 26-July 3 for three hours of rehearsal and July 12-18 for 12 hours of rehearsal and one public reading; and July 19-July 25 for 8 hours of rehearsal and one public reading. Note: Rehearsals and performances will be held virtually.

Compensation & Union Contract Details

Professional Pay: $16/HourlyPays $16/hour for rehearsals and performances. Equity Special Agreement

Prepare a two-minute contemporary monologue and use the below link to access the Google Form to submit your audition.

Google Form will require you to attach your head shot and resume and a video link to your taped monologue. Submissions will be reviewed as they come starting on May 25. Actors will be contacted only if they are going to be considered for individual projects. Deadline: June 1. If you have questions, contact Casting Director, Lauren English at

While Playwrights Foundation has not officially announced the BAPF season, we are providing a
character breakdown of the plays that have been committed to.

Project 1: **Non binary and Native and Indigenous identifying actors particularly encouraged to
submit**
Character 1: Any age, Female ID or non-binary, Indigenous heritage identifying
Character 2: Any Age, Female ID or non-binary, half Indigenous heritage / half black
Character 3: Any Age, Female ID, or non-binary half indigenous heritage / half white
Character 4: Any Age, Female ID, Full indigenous heritage

Project 2:
Character 1: F / 18 yo White, Queer. Singing role.
Character 2: F / 18 yo White. Singing role.
Character 3: F / 18 yo, Asian American. Singing role.
Character 4: F / 22 yo Asian American, tough.
Character 5: M / 40 yo Executive for the Network. White.
Character 6 M / 25 yo Pop star. White. Singing role.

Project 3:
Character 1: F / Late 20's. Black.
Character 2: M / 30. Black.
