Summary/Objective  

The Venues Manager is responsible for managing all employees as well as all aspects of operation of Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundations (TRMF) venues and entertainment locations with a goal of achieving revenue, sales/marketing, cost control, quality measurement, staffing, employee development, and guest satisfaction results. 


Duties/Responsibilities 

  • Maintains and administers safety and security of guests and employees, including OSHA compliance, General Liability, and Workers’ Compensation reporting requirements. Complies with all federal and state guidelines. 
  • Ensures that all areas of the theatres are within TRMF standards, including quality, service, cleanliness, safety, security, and maintenance programs. 
  • Recruits, selects and retains a quality staff. Mentors employees regarding their growth and development. 
  • Trains and develops employees regarding policies, practices and procedures.  
  • Schedules employees and maintains payroll within budget. 
  • Conducts performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, counseling, and discharge of employees. 
  • Provides support for contracted entertainers and supports TRMF relationship with contractors. 
  • Coordinates scheduling of free entertainment for TRMF venues. 
  • Vets requests from entertainment groups and contracts as needed. 
  • Informs supervisor on a timely basis of any operational or personnel problems at the theatres. 
  • Monitors and ensures effective performance of maintenance and concession staff through frequent discussions and inspections. 
  • Performs other related duties as required. 

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervises and manages employees at various TRMF theatre venues. 
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy. 
  • Supervise and collaborate with partners and contractors to ensure delivery of quality entertainment.


Work Environment

This position is in a varied environment. Evenings, weekends and holidays will be common as required by performance and rehearsal schedules. Work environment includes indoors and outdoors in a variety of conditions

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Theater Arts, Stage Management, Production Management, or Technical Director or comparable work experience in entertainment production management, stage management or technical direction/design. 
  • Experience in concert or theater production preferred. 
  • Complementary arts administration experience preferred.
