The Midtown International Theatre Festival (MITF) has a new deadline (March 27, 2026) for submissions.
The festival will take place June 15-July 26, 2026 at the American Theatre for Actors on W. 54th St. in NYC, USA.
MITF seeks 30-120-minute plays and musicals:
- one-act
- full-lengths
- musicals
- solo shows
- cabaret
- children’s plays
MITF also seeks participants in the Short Play Lab.
As with all submissions to the festival, the SPL requires those who submitted them to perform full productions.
No guns, fire, smoke, or animals! All productions must be off-book and within the 10-min. limit.
SPL staging resources are sparse: some rehearsal cubes and a table or two. Setup is 2 minutes; strike, 1 min.
The SPL comprises 2 separate programs of 10 10-min. plays each. Each program is presented twice.
The shorter the play, the better! Tech rehearsals are Saturday, June 20.
Performances are Saturday evening, June 20, and Sunday afternoon and evening, June 21.
To submit scripts to the SPL, send them as attachments to mitfxq@gmail.com, in .doc or .pdf format.
Regular dramatic format is encouraged. There are no application or participation fees.
There is a prize of $100 for the most popular play in each program, determined by a poll at the box office.
