A2 - Mordred is the illegitimate son of King Arthur. A truly evil young
man who was sired by Arthur when he was young and naive. Fascinatingly
unlikeable. Squire Dap is Lancelot’s squire.

exciting possibilities of a promised life. She loves Arthur but is in

Knight from France, who is a passionate disciple of Arthur and his
roundtable. "The Greatest Knight in the world", whose only weakness is
his love for Guenevere.
"Educating Rita"
Frank: 50s/60s- A
professor who takes on Rita as a student. Frank used to be a
little-known but well-respected poet, but he stopped writing when his
wife left him. In the years since, he has started drinking heavily and
doubting the value of his role as an educator.
Rita: mid-late 20s
to early 30s - A hairdresser who signs up for tutoring lessons with
Frank, a professor at a nearby university. Rita is fiercely intelligent
but has little in the way of a formal education.
"Into the Breeches"
Maggie Dalton: This role has been cast.
Celeste Fielding: Perceived white female in her 50s, the diva, plays Henry Fifth and Fourth.
Ellsworth Snow: Perceived white male in his 60s, the conservative Board President of the Oberon Play House.
Winifred Snow: Perceived white female in her 50s, untalented but enthusiastic socialite, plays Falstaff.
Stuart Lasker: Perceived white male in his 40s, the quip-ready Stage Manager, plays Mistress Quickly.
Ida Green: African-American female in her 30s, the imaginative costume designer, plays Hotspur.
June Bennett: Perceived white female in her late teens/early 20s, the ingenue, plays the Kates.
Grace Richards: Perceived white female in her late 20s/early 30s, a raw talent, plays Henry. Fourth and Fifth
"Go Back for Murder"
Carla
Le Marchant/Caroline Crale: Daughter/mother, 30s/40s - Carla is the
daughter of Amyas and Caroline Crale. After the death of her father and
imprisonment of her mother, she was brought up in Canada. Caroline is
the wife of Amyas, half-sister of Angela Warren. She was put on trial
for the murder of her husband, found guilty and imprisoned. One actress
will play both mother and daughter.
Amyas Craven: 40s - Amyas
Craven is a renowned artist. Attractive, charming, funny, charismatic
man in his early 40s. He loves his wife Caroline but he is a lady’s man.
His current crush is young Elsa. Elsa seduced him to paint her portrait
and it appears that she could be the one to steal him away from
Caroline.
Meredith Blake: ages 42-58 older brother to Philip -
Meredith Blake is a wealthy man, successful and respected man in his
late 40s. Meredith is calm, composed, and highly intelligent, kind.
Secretly was in love with Elsa. He is an amateur botanist and has a
laboratory in his house. He wants to help Carla find the truth but
thinks Caroline was guilty.
Philip Blake: ages 40-56 younger
brother to Meredith - Very successful, wealthy solicitor. Good looking,
grey at the temples. Self-important with traces of nervous irritability.
Amyas was one of his oldest and closest friends. He loved Caroline and
asked her to marry him but she married Amyas instead. He saw Caroline as
“wicked temper; cold blooded, calculating devil”. He thinks Caroline
was Guilty.
Angela Warren: ages 14 to 30 Angela is Carolines’s
younger half-sister. - She’s distinguished, good sense of humor, worldy,
well dressed as an adult and successful. As a young girl, was a tom-boy
climbing trees and playing truant. She was a trickster—put valerian in
his beer and a hedgehog in Amyas bed. She’s playful, observant,
outspoken and affectionate. She knew Caroline could not have killed
Amyas.
Justin Fogg: 30s - Attractive, dry sense of humor and a
sharp intellect. Likeable. Justin Fogg is the family solicitor and a
loyal friend to the Cravens. His father worked for the defense of
Caroline and was 18 at the time of the trial and became infatuated with
Caroline. He decides to help Carla in her search for the truth. His
level-headed approach to the investigation, brings a touch of comic
relief to the Play.
turnball: 70s - An elderly clerk working for
Justin and was present at the trial against Caroline Carle. “A Dicken’s
type character.”
Miss Williams: ages 55-70 - Intelligent, clear
annunciation, wise, observant, pedagogic manner. She took care of
Angela, Carla’s younger half-sister. She did not like Amyas and thought
Caroline had to put up with a great deal. “I could kill Amyas for his
infidelities”. Miss Williams loved Caroline despite the fact she
positively knew Caroline was guilty.
Jeff Rogers: 30s - Jeff is
in his early 30s, handsome, arrogant, intelligent, engaged to Carla.
Thought of breaking up after hearing about Carla’s mother. “You can’t do
any cattle breeding without realizing that certain strains repeat
themselves” but decided Carla was a fine girl. He doesn’t want Justin to
take Carla’s case. “. . . Raking up the past is morbid.”
Lady
Elsa Melksham: 19 ages to 35-ish - As an adult she is beautiful, smart,
and bitter. As a young girl, she’s very attractive and could have any
man she wanted. She fell for Amyas instantly and was not an “innocent
little girl.” She seduced Amyas’s into painting her portrait. She
flaunts her relationship in front of Caroline. What others say about
her: Meredith was secretly in love with her, Philip found her to be
stupid. Angela thought she was a bore. Caroline wanted to “take a
hatchet” for trying to steal her husband.
"Pride and Prejudice"
Track
1: This actor doubles) Jane- late 20s-early 30s. The eldest and most
beautiful Bennet daughter. Kind, idealistic, diffident. Always tries to
do the right thing. Miss de Bourgh- Lady Catharine’s daughter; a
gremlin. Probably allergic to sun. Underneath all her veils, she may be
covered in scales.
Track 2: (no doubling) Lizzy- A year or two
younger than Jane. Clever, spirited; can be sharptongued. Gets
flustered, which makes her klutzy. Prides herself on good judgment. Not
especially beautiful. Very very scared of marriage, after absorbing the
lessons of her parents’ marriage.
Track 3: Lydia- 14, The
youngest Bennet. Lively, prone to imitating others’ behavior and
eavesdropping. Lady Catherine de Bourgh- Patrician Caesar-meets-drill
sergeant.
Track 4: (no doubling) Mr. Darcy- late 30s-early 40s.
One of the richest men in England. Too proper for his own good; awkward
in most social contexts. Prides himself on self-control and good
judgement.
Track 5: Mr. Collins- A pedantic, obtuse man. The
original mansplainer. Rector to Lady Catharine. Wickham- An unfairly
handsome and charming gentleman. Probably a sociopath. Raised with
Darcy. Miss Bingley- A very rich, very beautiful young woman. Fancies
herself witty.
Track 6: Mr. Bingley- Late 30s-early 40s. Loves
the world and the world loves him. Mr. Darcy’s particular friend. Almost
literally a dog. Mary- The third Bennet girl. Violent and dark
undertones; prone to pedanticism and sulking. A dark goth Bronte
character trapped in an Austen world. Coughs to get attention, or to
make a point; may fancy that she is dying.
Track 7: Charlotte
Lucas- Same age as Lizzy. A practical girl with a good sense of humor.
Mr. Bennet- The patriarch of the Bennet family. Finds amusement in
absurdity; often looks for respectable escape from the chaos of his
family life. Can be somewhat apathetic; probably a bit depressed, under
everything. Enjoys antagonizing. Disappointed in marriage.
Track
8: Mrs. Bennet- The matriarch of the Bennet family. Mostly a silly
woman, of mean understanding and variable temper. Hypochondriac; when
she’s upset, she fancies that she’s dying. The business of her life is
to get her daughters married. She traumatizes her family with some
regularity. Doubles as Servants

A
professional repertory company of singer/actor/dancer/mover artists of
all types to perform in all of our 3-summer repertory shows: “Kinky
Boots,” “The Music Man,” and “Come from Away.” All cast actors
participate in all 3 shows with an onstage part or as an understudy.
This is a 14-week contract. Also seeking singer/actors of all types for
our 6-week fall show contract; “I Left My Heart,” a tribute to Tony
Bennett. This is a separate contract from the summer repertory shows.
RMRT
will be hiring one repertory ensemble to appear in all of our summer
season shows. All roles - leading, supporting, and ensemble - will be
cast from the one repertory ensemble. These are the characters to be
cast:
“Kinky Boots”
Note that the entire cast should be comfortable with a pop/rock style of singing and British accent.

Charlie Price: Male. Sings C3–B4. A leading man, just out of
university. He is privileged, but likeable - his father owns the shoe
factory. He is handsome and loveable but there is a temper right under
the skin. A bit confused, a bit unfocused, a hero hiding under a
victim’s mantle. Has a great singing voice, ability to move.
- Lola:
Male. Sings C3–B4 (with one top C). An emotionally and physically
challenging role that requires the body of a boxer with the soul of a
Diva, a la Whitney Houston. Has star presence and feels comfortable
wearing everything from full glamour as a scene-stealing drag performer
to nothing but boxing trunks. Has a killer voice with power blues and
gospel chops. This role is written as a non- Caucasian (generally
African heritage) male.
- Lauren: Female. Sings B?3–F?5. Beautiful,
but quirky (not glamourous like Nicola) working class girl who works in
the shoe factory. Funny and smart but has had bad luck with men.

Nicola: Female. Sings B?3–F?5. Charlie’s girlfriend since school.
Sophisticated looks. She is a social climber, driven and uncompromising.
She knows what she wants and goes for it.
- Don: Male. Sings C3–F4.
Lola’s nemesis. Burly hyper-masculine bear of a factory worker. Has a
menacing physicality. Least likely to be seen on a runway in kinky
boots.
- George: Male. Sings C3–F4. Factory Manager, keeping up traditions. Reserved and tightly wound.

The Angels: Male. These are the 4-6 drag performers who perform with
Lola. Versatile and terrific singers and dancers (required to dance in
heels). Physical fitness is crucial. Tumbling and acro skills a plus.
Three Angels sing to C?5 and three sing to A4. May cover Lola.
- Trish, Pat, Mr. Price, Harry: to be cast from the ensemble.

Ensemble: Males and Females. The men and women of the ensemble must be
excellent singers. They will cover Principal and Featured ensemble roles
as well as play factory workers, pub patrons etc. Factory workers
should look like real, everyday people and be able to move well. All
must be very strong singers. Some must be terrific dancers, have great
pop voices and be comfortable in drag in order to cover Angels. May
cover Lola.
Children’s Roles:
- Young Charlie: the lead as a 7-year-old boy. Lost, quiet, reflective. He appears in the opening and closing sequences.

Young Simon/Lola: This is Lola as a 10-year-old boy, who already knows
he’s destined to wear high heels. Non-Caucasian, to be cast after our
adult Simon/Lola is cast.
“The Music Man”
- Harold
Hill: The protagonist. A con man, traveling under the auspices of a
salesman, he eventually falls in love with Marian Paroo. Charismatic and
charming.
- Marian Paroo: The stuffy town librarian and music
teacher. She is an attractive young lady who eventually falls in love
with Harold Hill. Has an effortless soprano voice. My White Knight.
(Note: Vocal range and style will be more like the original
Broadway-style and range - not like the most recent revival. Original
keys, more soprano - less belt.)
- Mrs. Paroo: Cheerful and always plotting. An Irish widow and mother to Marian and Winthrop.

Eulalie Mackecknie Shinn: Mayor Shinn's peacock wife. A serial gossiper
and snob, she has trouble keeping her opinions to herself.
- Marcellus Washburn: Harold's chummy old friend and former con man. He now lives in River City and is trying to settle down.
- Jacey, Ewart, Oliver, Olin: Barbershop Quartet. Have clear-as-a-bell singing voices and excellent harmony-singing skills.

Mayor Shinn: A blustery politician who is all too "self-important."
Begrudgingly married to Eulalie, he is skeptical of the town rumor mill.
- Tommy Djilas: An attractive, young man from the wrong side of town. He is secretly courting Zaneeta.

Charlie Cowell, Zaneeta Shinn, Gracie Shinn, Alma Hix, Maud Dunlop,
Ethel Toffelmier, Mrs. Squires, Townspeople: to be cast from the
ensemble.
Children’s Roles:
- Winthrop Paroo: Marian's baby
brother, he is very shy because of a noticeable lisp. Embraces Harold
Hill and the idea of a children?s marching band. Harold Hill brings him
out of his shell. Solo Songs: The Wells Fargo Wagon & Gary, Indiana
- Amaryllis: A slightly bratty, and overly sensitive, piano student of Marian Paroo. Good singing voice.

Kids of River City Ensemble: seeking children of every shape and size,
with great singing voices and great energy, who move well and can take
direction. Preferable size - smaller (shorter) than “adult” appearing
(meaning some high school students might be too big for this “kids”
ensemble.)
“Come From Away”
All performers play multiple characters. Casting a 12-person ensemble. Other company members will be understudies/swings.

Claude: The gregarious and well-liked Mayor of Gander, Newfoundland,
Claude loves his work, the townspeople and his daily traditions, but
he's never had to deal with a crisis of this magnitude before. Gender:

- Bonnie: A no-nonsense
mother of three, Bonnie is the head of the Gander area SPCA. When she
discovers animals are trapped on the planes, she stops at nothing to
ensure their safety - but in frustration, she often lashes out at those
around her. Gender: Female; Age: middle aged; Vocal range top: B4

Beulah: The head of the Gander Legion, with a firefighter son, who walks
Hannah to her church and prays with her. Gender: Female; Age: middle
aged
- Oz: The quirky constable in the two-person Gander police
force. When the town's population suddenly doubles, Oz helps out in
unexpected ways. Gender: Male; Age: middle aged; Vocal range top: G4

Janice: Eager new local TV reporter, Janice is thrown into the deep end
on her 1st day. Initially naive about the world, she must face the pain
and confusion around her. Gender: Female; Age: young adult; Vocal range

- Beverly: The first female captain for American Airlines
Pilot, Beverly Bass has always loved flying, when her world suddenly
changes. Also plays “Annette” A local teacher at the Gander Academy and
mother to a lot of children. Gender: Female; Age: middle aged; Vocal
range top: C#5
- Diane: A traditional divorcee from Texas, who is
terrified that her son may have been flying at the time of the attacks.
When she finds out that he's safe, she's given a new lease on life and
discovers a wilder more carefree side of herself. Gender: Female; Age:
mature; Vocal range bottom: D5
- Nick: An English oil engineer who
is focused on his work, Nick's life is turned upside down when he falls
for Diane. Also plays “Doug,” An Air Traffic Controller, married to
Bonnie, who tries to help his wife and the animals. Gender: Male; Age:
mature; Vocal range top: E4
- Kevin T.: The head of an environmental
energy company in Los Angeles, Kevin was on vacation with his boyfriend
(and secretary, also named Kevin), when they are stranded in Gander.
Inspired by the town's generosity, Kevin creates the Pay It Forward
Foundation. Also plays “Garth”-head of the local union, representing the
Bus Drivers. Gender: Male; Age: middle aged; Vocal range top: G4

Kevin J.: Kevin's boyfriend and secretary. Sarcastic and unhappy, he
wants to leave as soon as possible. Also plays “Ali.” Gender: Male; Age:
middle aged
- Bob: A hardened New Yorker, Bob is suspicious of
where he's landed, fearing that it's World War 3, that someone is going
to shoot him and steal his wallet - but instead, he ends up losing his
New York jadedness. Gender: Male; Age: young adult
- Hannah: The
mother of a firefighter in Manhattan, Hannah waits for news about her
son and is comforted by Beulah. Gender: Female; Age: mature; Vocal range
top: E5
RMRT’s Fall Season: “I Left My Heart”
Seeking 3
male singer/actor performers who can move well. All 3 singers need to be
tenors, with effortless, thrilling high notes. All 3 should be
comfortable singing in a jazz style, and should be good harmony singers.
All performers portray aspects of Tony Bennet throughout the show - no
single Tony Bennett lookalike/sound-alikes are needed or desired. This
production is in no way an imitation or impersonation of Tony Bennett.
