Requirement for proof of vaccination/negative test:

above, except for the actor when they are actively auditioning. The time
spent unmasked should be as minimal as possible. Face coverings must be

If
the risk level for New York County is trending upwards and may rise to
High (Red) we will contact members with appointments at least 24 hours
before the first audition appointment time to let them know there is a
chance that the auditions may need to be postponed or cancelled. All
members with appointments will be notified if the auditions must be
postponed or cancelled. We encourage members to prepare for their
audition at home, to the extent that they can (e.g., get dressed,
hair/make-up, etc.) to avoid crowding in bathrooms and dressing rooms.

Orpheus:
High Tenor with falsetto up to G#5. (A2 – F5). 20s to 30s, male, any
ethnicity. Orpheus is an optimist, an idealist, a counter-culturalist.
There should be something special about his pipes. Not a conventionally
handsome leading man, Orpheus should feel unique and have the sensitive
soul of an artist. Plays guitar.
Hades: Bass. G1 – Eb4 (will
consider G2 – Eb4). 40s-60s, male, any ethnicity. Lord of the Dead.
Powerful, immortal and deeply in love with Persephone. Has a major
seductive power and strong authoritative presence. Tyrannical and a bit
menacing.
Persephone: Alto/Mezzo. (E3 – C5). 40s to 60s, female,
any ethnicity. Goddess, playful, mercurial, fun and sexy. Persephone is
not too feminine and lets her sharp edges show. She is the seasons and
is cut from the same cloth as Orpheus. She has a wryness and
intelligence that she uses sharply for both entertainment and as a
defense mechanism.
Hermes: Tenor/baritone. (D3 – B4). 30s-80s,
any ethnicity. Hermes is the narrator/guide/emcee of the story.
Charismatic, often mysterious, with a trickster-ish quality.
Eeurydice:
Alto/Soprano. (E3 – E5). 20s to early 30s, female, any ethnicity. A
practical leading heroine with an extremely vulnerable underbelly, a
haunted bird. She takes the leap to the underworld as a step towards
something reliable. There is both toughness and delicacy in her being
and her singing; she uses a belt for some songs, real subtlety for
others.
The three fates: Powerful and dark. Operate as one of the
“voices in the heads” of the other characters. All three of the Fates
play an instrument of some kind, are skilled with harmonies, and are
good movers.
Fate 1: Soprano. (F#3 – E5). Any age, any ethnicity.
Fate 2: Alto/Mezzo/ Soprano. (G3 – E5). Any age, any ethnicity.

Seeking a Technical Director for the Davis Performing Arts Center. Note: The Technical Director is an Academic and Administrative Professional position reporting directly to the Director of Production at Georgetown.The Technical Director oversees the production shop, and manages all staff working in the shop, including any over hires, technical staff, etc.; and oversees all technical aspects of production for the Theater & Performance Studies Program mainstage and studio productions, modeling a professional approach to technical production and ensuring a safe and respectful work environment for student-centered learning.The Technical Director - in collaboration with the Director of Production, Davis Center - monitors inventory and maintenance needs for equipment and implements these repairs or upgrades as needed; and they assure that the Davis Center’s theatres (one 235-seat proscenium theatre, and one 80-seat black box theatre) and their technical equipment are operated and maintained in a safe manner, respecting safety policies and procedures. Responsibilities also include but are not limited to leadership of production staff and participating as a collaborative team member with other administrative and technical staff; and in a timely manner and within allocated budgets, handles technical coordination and realization of set, lighting, sound and projection designs - typically designed by professionals or students with faculty mentor.

Interactions: The Technical Director reports directly to the Director of
Production at Georgetown and indirectly reporting to the Davis Center
for Performing Arts Artistic Director, the General Manager for
Performing Arts, and the Chair of the Department of Performing Arts.
Additionally, they cultivate and maintain relationships with a range of
faculty, staff, students, professionals, and prospective collaborators.
Qualifications: BFA or equivalent – preference for MFA in Technical
Direction or Theatrical Design. 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
[note: an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
will be considered] Ability to create and manage production calendars
and budget for mid-size producing organization. Experienced with stage
carpentry, rigging, and safe operation of fly systems; as well as MIG
welding, Auto CAD/ Vectorworks, audio, lighting, projection and
automation/motor control. Ability to lift 50+ pounds and to climb
18-foot straight ladder
Readiness to spec labor and materials ranging from scenery to soft goods, furniture to props
Proficiency with Word, Excel, Google Calendar and/or other calendar-based programs
