NYU Student Zoom Piece

GIAA member Shari Flack-Council sent please reply to her at

 sharic718@gmail.com

Hi Carlo,  I hope all is well with you. If you can share this

to any actors on your list-serve that would be

interested in a non-paid student zoom project

with a talk back that would be great.

I am in the Advancing Directing course and

we have a directing project where each student will

direct their own piece live on zoom during class hour

on March 12. The piece is 2-5 min but all actors must

stay for the duration of the entire class from

4:00pm to 6:35pm on the

day of the presentation as there will be a

talk back and a possible exercise to

explore the piece a little deeper.

There will be rehearsals at least twice a week

and I am

scripting the adaptation this week.

I have attached the piece that I will be

adapting so you have some context on

what I am looking for.

https://apple.news/A2KtSmbCsSMyM2xlp2A-opg

Also, If you can send a sample

no more than 1 min of your

acting (monologue) that would be great.

This will allow me to see you in the role

you would like to play.

Thank you so much. I really appreciate it.

Shari

Casting for Italian accents

 A potential casting opportunity...

---------- Forwarded message ---------
From: Caitlin Alicia Cieri <caitlin.cieri@fandm.edu>
Date: Mon, Feb 15, 2021 at 9:54 AM
Subject: Looking for Actors With Italian Accents
To: <theatrephiladelphia@googlegroups.com>, <theatrephiladelphia@yahoogroups.com>

Good Afternoon Everyone,
I have a monthly audio drama show on Germantown Radio, and I'm looking for actors who can do Italian accents for a play of mine. It's called "The Cat," and it's about a stray cat in a small Italian town who takes control of an old woman like a slave.
This is a public radio show, and I'm not receiving any money for this, so I can't promise payment for the show, but I can promise everyone a fully-produced copy of the audio drama for their portfolio.
Could you please let me know if you're interested by Wednesday morning? The lines will be recorded in advance, but the play itself will be aired on February 24th, 5PM, and I'd love to have all the actors as guests on the show to talk about your thoughts on the shows and upcoming projects. It'll be a socially distanced show through Zoom, and I'll send you the link to the show a few days in advance. I'm sending this opportunity out broadly, so the roles will be first come first serve.
I've enclosed the scripts in this email so you can give it a read, but the script will be subject to edit. If you have any questions, contact me at ccieri@fandm.edu. Let me know when you get this and have a good day.
Warm Regards,
Caitlin

What is needed to join AEA from GIAA

Assuming you are a member in good standing:

GIAA info account will send an email to AEA membership.

This has to happen before you deal with AEA.
You will get 350 reduction AEA initiation fee (Credit for GIAA initiation fee)
You have to put $400 down minimum of their initiation fee. The remainder can be paid over 2 years.
They should assign an AEA ID number immediately, used to be a temporary card, you get new AEA card in maid every 6 months as you pay dues. Good luck. If any questions, please let me know. Good luck.
