going and dynamic characters, all working in challenging jobs
(an understatement!) that consistently test their patience,
will power and sanity! We’re looking for fluently Italian
older female and male to play parents who can think quickly on
their feet (improv) to work with our main characters in
reenactment scenarios.

New York, NY – September 13, 2010 – It’s Directors Night on Media Blvd’s Purple Haze radio show when film director Declan O’Brien, who has helmed movies such as Wrong Turn 3, Cyclops, and the eagerly anticipated Sharktopus, and theatre director Carlo Fiorletta (A Tomato Can’t Grow in the Bronx) will be the exclusive guests Sunday, September 19, at 9PM/ET.

Airing Saturday, September 25, at 9PM (ET/PT), Sharktopus stars award-winning actor Eric Roberts (The Expendables/The Dark Knight) as a research scientist who, with his talented daughter (Sara Malakul Lane/Belly of the Beast), develops a secret military weapon -- a hybrid shark/octopus. But when the controls break down, the monster goes on a killing rampage at the resort beaches of Mexico. Sharktopus is produced by Roger Corman and Julie Corman.

Carlo Fiorletta directed Mara Lesemann’s Fertility Factor at the Producers Club and Acts of Contrition at the Houseman Studio. He wrote and directed two award-winning short movies: Nipple Nazis and Calamity 666. His film The Last Supper is currently in post-production. Fiorletta is President of the Guild of Italian American Actors.

And the following week, Sunday, September 26, at 9PM/ET, actor William Sanderson (True Blood, Deadwood, Blade Runner, Newhart) will be the exclusive live guest!

Purple Haze is hosted by NASA contractor Dr. Kenn Gold, conservative author Gary Morgenstein (Jesse’s Girl), and liberal screenwriter/journalist Frederic Germay.

Morgenstein’s new play, A Tomato Can’t Grow in the Bronx, will premiere in New York’s Producers Club from September 22-September 26. The play will be directed by Carlo Fiorletta and stars Simcha Borenstein; Donna Castellano; Troy Dane; Bruce Levy; Alyson Linefsky, and Jessica Renee Russell.

Vincent Pastore to Receive Best Actor Award

Vincent Pastore will receive the Best Actor Award at the 4th annual GIAA Festival of Short Films and Videos ( for his performance in Alienated, directed by Paul Borghese.

The award will be presented by GIAA President Carlo Fiorletta on Saturday night October 2, at the conclusion of the 7 PM screening block, which will include Alienated.

The festival takes places in the Maya Deren Theater at Anthology Film Archives (, 32 Second Avenue at 2nd St. in Manhattan. Tickets are available on the festival web site.

GIAA Fest set for Fri Oct 1 - Sun Oct 3

The 4th annual GIAA Festival of Short Films and Videos ( ) is coming up: the festival will run from Friday October 1 through Sunday October 3 at Anthology Film Archives, 32 Second Avenue at 2nd St. in Manhattan.

Volunteers are needed to check in attending filmmakers, hand out programs, and present awards; please e-mail Festival Director Mara Lesemann at if you can help.

We have a great line-up of movies, including:
